Living with Wildfire Learning Series: Community Conversations - Curbside Wildfire Assessment & Preparedness Planning

  • Melody Park 16th St & Kingwood Pl Boulder, CO, 80304 United States (map)

Event Description

Join us on July 9th as we gather with the Boulder Office of Emergency Management, City of Boulder Fire Rescue Risk Reduction Program, and United Policy Holders to 1) discuss specific ways your own neighborhood can be more wildfire prepared, including building emergency preparedness, community connections, and addressing insurance needs, and 2) walk through a City of Boulder neighborhood together to identify strengths and opportunities of homes for fire resistance based on the City's curbside assessment tool. This will be an opportunity to have casual conversations with other residents, homeowners, and wildfire and emergency professionals. Bring your walking shoes, water, and questions for this 2 hour event!

Join us! RSVP to cat@boulderwatershedcollective.org or via Eventbrite.

This is the third event of a part three of a three part learning series. After the recent Marshall Fire, The Boulder Watershed Collective in partnership with The Northern Colorado Fireshed Collaborative and The Center for Sustainable Landscapes and Communities wants to be responsive to the voices and concerns we have heard from local communities. In this learning series, we hope to shine a light on potential impacts and adaptations moving forward from this devastating fire. Connect via email to learn about what you can do to adapt to living in fire prone grassland and forested ecosystems.

If your HOA is interested in having this tour in your area, please reach out to: cat@boulderwatershedcollective.org.
