Community Conversations - Wildfire Learning Network

Event Description

Do you want to learn about ways other people have engaged their neighbors in preparing for a wildfire? This 2-hour online discussion focused on creating a learning exchange between neighborhood leaders. We also had the honor of guest speakers Sarah McCaffrey and Alison Lerch discussing their years of expertise working with communities around wildfire perceptions and preparedness. This discussion was an opportunity to build a supportive network of engaged residents across multiple geographic locations from the City and County of Boulder, and other counties to share resources, discuss challenges/frustrations around neighborhood wildfire preparedness, and share innovative strategies with each other for long-term support. Additionally, this event provided support within each neighborhood/community unit to catalyze coordinated action and grow the learning network.

This event was hosted by The Boulder Watershed Collective and CU’s The Center for Sustainable Landscapes and Communities. We graciously thank our sponsors The Community Foundation - Boulder County.
